Rav Moshe Twersky was born on the 15th of Elul, 5715 (Sep. 2, 1955) in Boston, MA, to loving and nurturing parents — Ha'Rav Yitzchak Asher, Talner Rebbe, ztllh"h, and, tlct"v, Rebbitzen Atarah. From his earliest youth, he was tutored intensively with paternal devotion by his grandfather, Ha'Rav Ha'Gaon Rabbi Yosef Dov Ha'Levi Soloveitchik ztllh"h.

That singular relationship, coupled with the warm and embracing atmosphere of the Talner community, shaped a life of extraordinary dedication to Torah. Rav Twersky's immersion in learning was marked by an intensity and consistency that those who knew him described as rare — a daily regimen of deep Talmudic analysis and halachic inquiry that continued unabated throughout his life.

For over twenty years, Rav Twersky served as a rebbi in Yeshivas Toras Moshe, where he transmitted the Brisker method of Talmudic analysis to generations of talmidim. His shiurim were known for their precision, clarity, and the way they opened windows into the logical structures underlying Halacha.

On the 25th of Cheshvan, 5775 (Nov. 18, 2014), Rav Moshe Twersky died al kiddush Hashem in the Har Nof neighborhood of Yerushalayim. His passing left a void in the hearts of his family, his talmidim, and all who were touched by his wisdom and humility.
